Married to a retired Sheriff Deputy, Carlisle has lived her entire life in Florida (yes, she’s a native) - where she has worked many jobs from a street Paramedic, Flight Medic, Accountant, and even a Property Manager, but her favorite is Author.
She believes in happily ever after (eventually), strong and self-reliant heroines, and demanding yet compassionate heroes.

The end of Sideways bummed me out, well sort of. It’s a bit of a cliffhanger; well done Annie Carlisle! Sideways is a well-written, romantic mystery. It’s just a little “lighter” than many mysteries I’ve read and that genre is often my default book choice.

By the middle of this book, I ran to get books 2 and 3. I am so invested in these characters and I don’t want to let them go. I love Olivia so much. And the way Alana tells the story near the end of the book is one of the funniest and heartbreaking moments I’ve ever read. Annie Carlisle has a wonderful way that she tells her story.
